Amy's path to founding Slaughter Design Studio began in her mother's real estate open houses, where she instinctively saw not just rooms, but possibilities. After studying interior design at Utah State University, she spent fifteen years in Park City creating custom mountain homes and developing the construction fluency that defines her work today. Projects across multiple states and Europe deepened her technical expertise before she relocated to the Texas Hill Country in 2005, establishing the studio in Fredericksburg.
What distinguishes Amy's approach is her rare combination of skills: she speaks the language of builders and architects as fluently as she curates materials and furnishings. Her appointment to Fredericksburg's Historical Review Board reflects her deep knowledge of preservation and adaptive reuse. This technical command allows her to navigate complex projects with clarity while maintaining the refined aesthetic her clients expect. Licensed and registered in Texas with over 25 years of experience and professional memberships in ASID and NCIDQ, she believes the strongest designs emerge from genuine relationships. Off duty, she's running quiet Hill Country back roads or spending time with her husband, children, and dogs.
